ControlCert’s website uses cookies. According to applicable law, all visitors to a website that uses cookies must be informed about the use of cookies, what they are used for, and how to opt out.
What Are Cookies?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your computer that contains information. Cookies are generally used to enhance the user experience of a website.
There are two main types of cookies:
- Persistent cookies – These remain stored on your device and help improve your experience by remembering your preferences and interests for future visits.
- Session cookies – These are stored temporarily in your computer’s memory while you are visiting the website. They are automatically deleted when you close your browser. No personal information, such as your name or email address, is stored.
ControlCert’s website uses both types. A session cookie is sent between your computer and our web server during your visit to make navigation easier. Session cookies are also used when you access our e-services. These cookies disappear once your session ends.
For general information about cookies and the Swedish Electronic Communications Act, visit the Post and Telecom Authority’s website (PTS).
Analytics and Website Statistics
ControlCert uses Google Analytics to gain insights into how visitors use our website. The following cookies may be created:
- __utma – Persistent cookie used to distinguish users and sessions. Updated with each page view and expires two years after being set or last updated.
- __utmb – Session cookie used to determine new sessions/visits. Expires 30 minutes after being set or last updated.
- __utmc – Session cookie that works with “__utmb” to determine whether a new session has started. Deleted when the browser is closed.
- __utmt – Session cookie used to manage request rates and measure site speed. Expires after 10 minutes.
- __utmz – Persistent cookie used to track traffic sources and navigation paths. Expires six months after being set or last updated.
The information generated by these cookies (including your IP address) is transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. This information helps us evaluate website usage and improve content, navigation, and structure. Google may transfer this information to third parties where required by law or when such parties process data on Google’s behalf.
ControlCert has configured Google Analytics to anonymize IP addresses, meaning the final digits of each visitor’s IP address are removed before transmission to Google.
How to Manage Cookies
If you do not wish to allow cookies, you can disable them in your browser settings. Please note that doing so may limit certain functions of the website.
